About this fanlisting

This is a fanlisting for the character Hawatari Yuiko from Loveless, which recently finished its first season in Japan.

As of 19 December 2005, I've seen the first twelve episodes of Loveless, and Yuiko quickly became one of my favorite characters. She's not afraid to say what she wants, even if she is a bit of a coward who gives in to peer pressure too easily. She cares a bit too much what the other girls, her "friends", think about her and ends up doing too much for them. She's captured the interest of Yayoi-san, but turned him down when he asked her out, saying that he was too short. Ritsuka is also shorter than Yuiko, but she is quite taken with him and the height issue doesn't seem to exist like it did with Yayoi. I think her role will get larger as the show continues, and she may easily become a good friend to Ritsuka. Personally, I'm hoping she'll begin to see how much Yayoi cares for her and decide to overlook their height difference and go out with him. ^_^

The title of the site, Mustard Sandwich, comes from Episode Three ("Bondless") when she asks if Ritsuka and Soubi are going out together. Soubi says that they are "Master and Servant", which Yuiko takes as "Mustard Sandwich". I laughed so hard that I had to pause the episode to keep from missing the next part! That's when I decided to try for her fanlisting and to use the quote as the title.
